Microsoft and Ecobank have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to complement African governments' efforts to modernise and raise the standards of the continent’s major cities through state of the art digital solutions.
The MoU will see Microsoft and Ecobank collaborating in sharing best practices and technical guidance to governments and citizens. Microsoft's solutions will be applied in education, revenue collection and issuance of vital documents, as well as a number of other sectors where they will have an immediate and significant impact for African countries, while Ecobank will facilitate the collection of revenue as well as the adoption and use of payments solutions.
The collaboration will focus on bursary disbursements and school fee collections in the education sector, municipality rates and fees collections, vehicle and driving licensing as well as e-visa and e-passport fee collections.
